Dustin Hancock

Owner/Director

Dustin Hancock grew up in Damariscotta, graduating from Great Salt Bay School and Lincoln Academy. It was while at Lincoln Academy that he started working at the Strong Funeral Home. He graduated cum laude from the New England Institute at Mount Ida College with his degree in Funeral Service in 1994. In 1997, upon graduating from the University of New England with his degree in Medical Biology, he came back to Damariscotta to serve the people of the community he called home. On July 30, 2009, Dustin became only the fourth owner in the funeral homes 86 year history.



Paul Smeltzer

Director

Paul Smeltzer started working in a funeral home while in high school in Presque Isle. While growing up the son of a pastor, Paul once lived in Bristol while his father served churches in Round Pond and New Harbor. He would go on to graduate from Mount Ida College, and has worked at several funeral homes throughout Maine, New Hampshire and Pennsylvania. He currently lives in Waldoboro with his wife and two kids, where he serves the town as their Fire Chief.


Andrea Hallowell

Attendant

Andrea is a mother of three who works at a local furniture store and volunteers regularly for the Miles Memorial Hospital League. 


David Gay

Attendant

David is the father to two sons, and for several years he delivered Meals on Wheels to the people of Lincoln County.


Rick Newell

Attendant

Rick grew up here served the community for many years in local banks, and most recently as a Pastor at several local churches.


Our funeral attendants, Andrea Hallowell, David Gay, and Rick Newell all grew up in Lincoln County, attended local schools, and graduated from Lincoln Academy. They realize the special community they are a part of, and have chosen to stay here and raise their own families.
