Obituary

Sharon Fowler Leeman, age 78, died at home surrounded by her loving family and friends on Tuesday, March 8th, 2022 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.  

Born on June 18th, 1943 in Thorndike, ME, she lived in Wiscasset and worked at Stephen D. Reed M.D. Family Medicine and Miles Memorial Hospital.  Sharon was a member of the United Baptist Church of Jefferson, ME, most recently attended the Edgecomb Community Church in Edgecomb, ME, and was a member of the Rebekah’s and the National Grange Association. 

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Stephen Gilbert Fowler and Esther (Kennedy) Fowler; husband, Robert Lear Sr.; and husband, John Caton.  

Survivors include husband, Ronald Leeman of Wiscasset, ME; brother, Jay Fowler and wife Jane of Lamoine, ME; brother, Dale Fowler and wife Jane of Chester, NH; sister, Lynda Ward of Searsport, ME; son, Robert Lear Jr. & wife Christine of Whitefield, ME; son, Ronald Lear & wife Pamela of Gig Harbor, WA; and daughter, Sandra Toothaker & husband Donald of Avondale, AZ.   Three step-children, Cindra Leeman of Bucksport, David Leeman and his partner Rita of Orland, and Christine Shorey and her husband Daniel of Bucksport.  Sharon had 9 grandchildren to include Robert Lear III of Edgecomb, ME, Kristin Lutz and husband Nat of Apple Valley, MN, Garret Lear of Tenino, WA, Brian Toothaker of Whitefield, ME, Matthew Toothaker and wife Kristen of Waddell, AZ and Kaitlyn Toothaker of Berwick, ME; Sharon also had 4 great-grandchildren.
