Scott Eric Simmons, 53, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Damariscotta on Wednesday, May 15th, 2024. Born on January 28th, 1971, he was the youngest of four children born to Charlotte and Lowell Simmons. He is survived by his wife, Julie; and his two children, Brian & Sarah.
Scott served as an infantry sharpshooter in the U.S. Army. He also served his community as a CNA & Medication Technician, was a Life Scout, and had a black belt in Aikido. In all the roles of his life he left the world better than he found it, and left a mark on the hearts of all that knew him.
He will be remembered as a Christian, a scholar, a soldier, a father, a husband, and a friend. As a dad he was a lover of literature, fantasy and tales of triumph. He loved to tell stories and escape into them with his children. He loved to have fun with his family and was so proud of both his children, the adults they grew to be, and the loves they found. To his wife he was a knight in shining armor; her best friend and protector.
He will be greatly missed by all.
Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Strong-Hancock Funeral Home, 612 Main Street, Damariscotta, ME 04543. Condolences, and messages for his family, may be expressed by visiting: www.StrongHancock.com.
