November 14, 2020 11:16 AMOn behalf of my sister Pat, my brother Matthew, and the entire Crawley family with roots in Montclair, we wish to express our deepest sympathy for the passing of Marie. Marie was a dear friend of my mother's, going back to their Trinity days and enriched by the great friendship Marie & Bill shared with my parents, Frank & Hope, along with many other common friends in Montclair. They shared books and prayers, dinners and small talk, the trials of parenthood and life stories that gave meaning. Marie was particularly kind and generous to Pat and me during the difficult passing of my mother this year. She was a learned person with deep spiritual roots whose eyes saw the goodness in this world and whose smile filled a room and warmed hearts. Marie carried herself with understanding and compassion. She will be missed.

November 10, 2020 1:36 PMI am so sorry to hear of Marie's passing. She was one of my mother's closest friends from college and they kept in touch for over sixty years. I heard many stories of the good times they had together and I was inspired by the length and depth of their friendship.

November 9, 2020 4:54 PMMarie had a calm wisdom about her and often a mischievous twinkle in her eye. It was always lovely to see her and feel the warmth of her welcome. She certainly lived a life of compassion and generosity. Our sympathy to her family.

November 1, 2020 2:04 PMOur community was enriched by Marie’s compassion and wisdom. She bridged any divisions of age, nationality or religion to bring us together and lead us to a fuller understanding of our common humanity. I valued her friendship and the many discussions we shared as we walked or kayaked in Maine’s beautiful countryside. Requiescat in pace!

October 31, 2020 9:55 AMOn behalf of myself and the crew of Colby & Gale Service Station we are saddened to learn of Marie’s passing. I met Bill and Marie 20 odd years ago and Bill’s dry wit is still remembered. It has been a pleasure to know Marie, to engage and converse with her. Her grace and poise will be missed. Our hearts are with her family and all that are lucky enough to have known her.
