Dear Vicky and Becky,
I share your grief. Although it was many years ago that Betsy and I were together—first at Smith in Wilson House, then as roommates in Cambridge and as a duo traveling in Europe. She was always good company—so intelligent and observant. In short, just good fun to be around. I left Cambridge in ‘63, heading to San Francisco, then to NYC in ‘64. Much to my regret, I lost touch with many old friends, didn’t attend reunions until our 15th or 20th, etc. I will cherish my memories of Betsy. She was an integral component of my growing up—a fine example of what a woman should be. We learned to cook, explore cities, entertain, and meet new friends together. Her professional achievements were daunting
as was her dedication to science.
I send you my sympathy and hope for the future.

Dear Vicki and Becky,
I am so sorry to learn of the death of Betsy. We both lived in Martha Wilson House at Smith College and were friends.

I want to send condolences to the family of Betsy Marr - her sisters Becky and Vicky.  I was related to Betsy as a second cousin.  My mother and her mother were first cousins.  Betsy was really a remarkable person.  I really respected her career in medical research since I too spent my career in medical research and teaching.  Betsy and her sisters were so kind to my parents by staying in touch with them in the later years of their lives.  RIP Betsy....

I was so sad to hear of Betsy's passing. I always looked forward to getting a call from Betsy and Vicky when I was working as the Brunswick Animal Control Officer. Visiting with them was always the highlight of my day.

Vicky, I seem to have trouble with the leaving sentiment. Anyway, it’s Elizabeth Allred, I will be in touch when I get out of the hospital, a couple of weeks. If you send me an email it will be easier. I think fondly of you both and hope you’re managing with this very sad event and also Becky. Will keep you in my heart and thoughts the next weeks.
