Albert Silverstein Obituary

It is in loving memory of Albert “Bert” Silverstein that we celebrate his long life as a son, a father and grandfather.  His children, Dawn, Sara and Jacob and his wife Tanya; and his grandchildren, Marshall, Zachary, and Benjamin; and his first wife, Lynne, honor a life well lived…a life that began in New York, New York, in May of 1948.  Growing up in nearby Queens, he later traveled to places like Denver, Memphis and Atlanta, and then finally to Lewiston/Auburn, Maine.

Bert graduated from Forest Hills High School in 1966.  He attended Pace University in NYC, and completed an early educational course in computers at a school that was located in the basement of The Empire State Building!  He pursued this new discipline, and became a career computer specialist.

He had a love of music, and had a record collection of over 500 albums!  He also learned to play the guitar.  His second love of photography, and especially in Maine, of lighthouses, made him a happy camper to move to Maine in 2018.

It is with that in mind that we will honor his final wishes and have his ashes gently spread on the ocean’s waves off Pemaquid Point, one of his favorite lighthouses, in the near future.

Bert had often donated to the American Red Cross blood drive, and so it is our wish that you give to the Red Cross blood drive and/or the Alzheimer’s Society if you would like to honor him further. Thank you.
